Stamped envelope (Columbus 400-year anniversary, 2-cent United States), 1892.

The embossed maroon and white design features two portraits (Columbus and ?), against a background with two hemispheres of the earth, the U.S. flag emblem, and the eagle, with the dates 1492-1892. The envelope was further printed with a return address of Stanford University, and was addressed to the S.F. Chronicle, San Francisco, Coupon Department, and sent 5 March 1894.
